天使心家族基金會欣然分享《特殊教育季刊》第175期最新文章〈裝備家長參與IEP之積極做法參考〉已正式出版(註1)!本篇文章示範了IEP特教知能講座可以不一樣的理念:不只是知識的傳遞,更是幫助家長改變對障礙的觀點,讓孩子的教育從「心」開始。
這篇文章結合了特殊教育的專業知識與基金會多年服務家庭的實務經驗,呈現兼具理論與實踐的IEP知能講座。講座不僅提升家長的教育知識,更強調心理預備與溝通技巧,並透過「領航家長」的同儕支持,讓新手家長在互動中獲得力量。研究指出,家長同儕支持對特殊需求家庭的父母至關重要,社會與情感支持正是他們的核心需求(註2)。
此外,基金會更運用 給力講堂影片資源,讓家長能更直觀地理解IEP的精神與操作方式。透過影片與互動練習,家長不只是被動接受,而是能主動表達孩子的優勢與需求,真正成為教育的合夥人。
Special Education Quarterly Latest Issue
Angel Heart Family Foundation is pleased to announce the publication of the latest article in Special Education Quarterly (Issue 175), titled Empowerment Unleashed: Preparing Parents for IEP Meetings (Note 1). This article demonstrates how IEP workshops can be different—not merely about knowledge delivery, but about transforming parents’ perspectives on disability and starting their child’s education from the heart.
The workshop design integrates special education expertise with the foundation’s practical experience in serving families. It emphasizes not only knowledge but also communication skills, psychological readiness, and peer support. Senior “mentor parents” play a key role in guiding new parents, underscoring the vital importance of peer support for families raising children with special needs. Research indicates that social and emotional support are essential for these parents (Note 2).
To improve accessibility, the foundation uses the Angel Heart Family E-learning Center to help parents better understand the IEP process and practice articulating their child’s strengths and needs. This method empowers parents to become genuine partners in education.
